I can’t tell you how excited I am to start shooting medium format film! I’ve wanted to shoot film, especially medium format, for the last three years and finally decided to pull the trigger last week. I plan on shooting a hybrid of film and digital for all 2016 weddings, and let me tell you, I have the biggest smile on my face just typing this. When I started photography, I started with digital, I had a 3 megapixel Olympus C-730. So starting with digital, naturally, I never shot film. I think that’s why I’m so excited because film feels new to me. It feels like a new journey. I can’t wait for the new challenges and techniques that I’ll learn along the way. I decided to start with the Mamiya 645 Pro TL after speaking with some other photographers that shot hybrid wedding photography, and they had nothing but great things to say. I have a styled shoot coming up this week and plan or shooting both film and digital. I will post my first film rolls later next week! I can’t wait to start shooting film for 2016!
